Innovative Detector Technology
At PicoSpective, we are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of detector technology. Our commitment to innovation drives us to produce state-of-the-art detectors that revolutionize quantitative electron microscopy.
With a readout speed of 18,000 fps, fully linear readout throughout the speed range, an unmatched 30 bit dynamic range and large 150 micron pixels with a simultaneous higher than 95% DQE at all accelerating voltages, the EMPAD G2 is unique.
Number of pixels, pixel size, speed of readout
Are more pixels really better? What is the optimum pixel size for a detector used at 200 or 300kV? Readout speed is meaningless unless it is combined with linearity and high DQE. There is no point in being fast at math if you are not good at math!
Accelerating Scientific Discoveries
The EMPAD detectors are responsible for most of the record-breaking ptychography reconstructions. Speed of convergence of the dataset is rigidly coupled to the quality of the data
Versatile Application in Research
For Materials Science, Life Science as well as Electronic Material research, the EMPAD can provide unrivalled data to reveal previously unseen detail
Customer-Centric Approach
At PicoSpective, we prioritize the customer experience. From product selection to after-sales support, we are committed to delivering exceptional service at every touchpoint.
Unmatched Expertise. Unwavering Performance.
The EMPAD is the only detector that can handle 1,000,000 electrons (20pA) worth of charge in a single pixel without saturating. It is radiation-hard from 30 kV all the way up to to 300 kV and maintains a DQE of over 95% throughout the accelerating voltage range and up to its maximum readout rate. The maximum useable imaging speed (MUIS) surpasses that of any other detector on the market. Do not be blinded by a single specification, look at what the leaders in the field choose!
